I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada (the "Biggest Little City in the World") and plan to stay in the area after completing my studies at UNR.

My mother, a social worker, and my father, an immigrant, showed me that connection to your community is essential to living a meaningful life. My family's immigration stories have taught me to love my city, state, and country, and to take initiative and be a self-starter.

My Story

In middle school, I saw that many people were disappointed in the state of the K-12 education system, but did not want to actively participate in its betterment. I developed an interest in teaching, and applied to the Academy of Arts, Careers, and Technology (AACT) in order to receive CTE endorsement in education.

In high school, I pursued community engagement through the Nevada Interfaith Association as a speaker and youth organizer, and through Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America.

When I arrived at UNR, I immediately looked for ways to become involved in the community.

I joined a Jewish sorority, in which I held eight chairs over the course of two and a half years. I also served as the Director of Administration, and then President, for UNR's Multicultural Greek Council.

Following my graduation, I hope to realize my dream of instilling community responsibility and civic engagement in our community’s students, leading to a brighter future for all.
